William Larkin, follower of (ca. 1580/5-1619)

William Larkin was born in London, the son of an innkeeper. Little is known about his life or artistic career, but it is thought that he trained under the celebrated miniaturist Nicholas Hilliard. He was one of the most talented native English portraitists working in a period dominated by Netherlandish immigrants.
